Roland Garros Re-Lived - Schedule

Over the past two months, we have thrown ourselves into Tennis Podcast production, and we are delighted to share our two-week schedule of podcasts for Roland Garros Re-Lived, which starts on Sunday (24th May).

When lockdown began in the UK, we knew immediately that we wanted to continue recording the show. We were inspired by the process and the feedback, and actually increased production, publishing our 20th podcast this week since Indian Wells was cancelled.

In the background, we prepared daily editions of Tennis Re-Lived for the original French Open and Wimbledon dates. We conducted interviews for Roland Garros Re-Lived with players, coaches, commentators and journalists to give new insight into some of the game’s most memorable and intoxicating storylines from the past 40 years.

Over the next two weeks we will tell those stories, starting on Sunday, with Yannick Noah describing his quest to become the first French man since 1946 to win his home Grand Slam tournament. No man has done it since he did it in 1983. It is one of the most enthralling interviews we have ever done. The tales he tells, and the way he tells them, will make you stop what you are doing to listen, and probably re-listen.

After that, we will move chronologically through to the present day, watching 8 men’s matches and 7 women’s matches together every morning at 10am UK time, and recording podcasts about them afterwards.

Every match chosen will help us tell and react to the story of the players and the eras concerned, from John McEnroe to Chris Evert, Monica Seles to Michael Chang, and on to The Williams sisters and the Big 3. Most of the podcasts will feature the voices of players or coaches involved, or one of our most respected media colleagues that were there on the day. Matt and Catherine have been deep-diving with research. David has been dusting off his 80’s and 90’s memories.

We will post the podcasts as soon as we can each day, and hope you enjoy them.

We will also have a daily schedule of Tennis Re-Lived podcasts during the original Wimbledon fortnight, and will post our Wimbledon Re-Lived schedule next month.

Thanks for listening.
